Some 800,000 people volunteer in sport. For most, they do it for the love of their chosen sport and to give something back to the community. But a simple thanks goes a long way to ensuring they continue to give their time and energy to grassroots sport.
Anyone who has volunteered in sport in the last 12 months should be thanked here with an eCard. Coaches, officials, committee members, kit washers, ball boys, fundraisers, worker-bees – they all help to keep community sport alive and well in Aotearoa.
Send them an eCard, then if you wish, nominate them for a Sport Volunteer Award. Three Sport Volunteer Awards will be awarded in each region with recipients receiving $250 of sport store vouchers.
eCards and nominations can be sent from 18 June to 28 August 2012.
